Home for the week. We did a barebat charter with Moorings out of Tortola, British Virgin Islands.
The boat was the "Salica" and was flagged out of England. It's a Beneteau 44.3
3 Cabins, 1 foward of the salon and 2 aft.
Eating a real Cheseburger in paradise at the Village Cay Marina. I have it on good advice this is the location of the real CIP.... That's our waitress zippin past. Turned out she took quite a fancy to me, if I only knew it was harbinger of things to come...... The next night while we were sampling the local culture in a little hole in the wall bar in Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda. The local minister just came up to me and bear hugged me and annouced to the crowd I was the chosen one..... Definitely one of the wierder experiences of my life.
Under sail under the pirate flag, aaargh. ever the troublemaker that I can be..... Since our boat was flagged under the British flag, we were required under British Maritime Law to be briefed that should we raise the pirate flag, that even to this day, we are still subject to being boarded by any British Naval Vessel and the Captain could summarily hang us from the the yardarm for piracy. So of course, up went the pirate flag......
Foxy's Bar on Josh Van Dyke Island. Jimmy wrote "Manana" while tied up in the harbor.
Looking out at Great Harbour. From a little different angle you can look out across the water and see the lights of St. Thomas. Welcome to America, the whole island of St. Thomas is wall to wall development. at night it looks like any other American city. Meanwhile there's hardly a light in the BVI's.
Although the original one was lost in a storm a couple of years ago, the "life is a tire swing" was replaced in Cane Garden Bay.
Sunset over Cane Garden Bay.....
